The Board of Deacons provides spiritual leadership in the Church. Deacons assist the Ministers in the administration of the Lord's Supper, visit the sick, counsel members, provide for the supply of the pulpit when necessary, support the needy, and assist in the spiritual care of the Church.

The Board of Trustees holds the property of the Church in trust, properly insures and maintains it in good repair. Supervises the financial affairs of the Church, and secures the financial cooperation of the members and congregation in support of the work of the Church. Provides periodic statements of individual contributions to members and other contributors. Responsible for raising funds for the church as necessary, and prepares and presents the annual budget to the Governing Body. Responsible for the financial obligations of the Church.

The Church Council's mission is to consult with the Board of Trustees on any matter involving the property and finances of the Church, or on any matter involving a contract or an agreement between the Church and another party. The Church Council shall present candidates for church office from the Nominating Committee at a church meeting during the month of June. The Council shall recommend removal of any delinquent officer and nominate a candidate to fill the unexpired term for such office, and take action to terminate members in accordance with the By-Laws. The Church Council, together with the Senior Minister and the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees, shall act on behalf of the entire church.

The Confirmation Committee coordinates the process that prepares youth (usually age 12) in the Christian faith through mentoring and instruction. At the end of a series of classes, field trips, and presentations, youth participants are confirmed into full church membership on Pentecost Sunday.

To provide the "Upper Room" Periodical to church members and the community; to provide and assist with stimulating fellowship within the church family; Sponsor the annual Christmas Bazaar; To make annual donations to the church mortgage reduction fund.

The Jazz Vespers Committee coordinates the Jazz Vespers worship services. The Jazz Vespers were designed to offer a different style of worship for members of the Church and the community. This form of music expression has introduced many to our Church. It is a mode of praise and thanksgiving in which people may praise God. The Jazz Vespers are held at 6:00pm on the Saturdays that precede fifth Sundays.

The Personnel Committee is a Standing Committee of the Church Council. The Chair of the Church Council with the majority of the Council appoints the Committee. The Personnel Committee is responsible for the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures. It is further responsible for the periodic review of the performance of all members of the staff and the recommending of appropriate personnel changes to the Church Council, the Board of Trustees and the Governing Body.

The Treasurer has custody of the funds and securities of the Church. The Treasurer deposits the funds and securities of the church and disburses funds upon due authorization of the Board of Trustees. The Treasurer provides monthly reports to the Board of Trustees and the Church Council, and submits periodic reports of receipts and disbursements to the Church.
